An overview of some tools and techniques being developed for data conditioning (regression of instrumental and environmental artifacts from the data channel), detector design evaluation (modeling the science " reach " of alternative detector designs and configurations), noise simulations for mock data challenges and analysis system validation, and analyses for the detection of gravitational rad...

In the present paper we study S(N) → S(U (N/2) × U (N/2)) symmetry breaking in N = 4 SY M via AdS/CFT correspondence. We consider two stacks of N/2 parallel D3 branes separated by a distance 2 d. In this case there is mixing between the different l-wave dilatonic KK modes. We calculate certain two point correlation functions in the dual gauge theory. Due to mode mixing, the diagonal correlation...

The panstochastic analogue of Birkhoff's Theorem on doubly-stochastic matrices is proved in the case n = 5. It is shown that this analogue fails when n > 1, n = 5.
متن کاملData conditioning for gravitational wave detectors: A Kalman filter for regressing suspension violin modes
Interferometric gravitational wave detectors operate by sensing the differential light travel time between free test masses. Correspondingly, they are sensitive to anything that changes the physical distance between the test masses, including physical motion of the masses themselves. In ground-based detectors the test masses are suspended as pendula, in order that they be approximately “free” a...
